Court pronounces its judgment in Bosanska Krupa case

In its judgment pronounced earlier today, the War Crimes Department - part of the Higher Court in Belgrade found defendants Joja PLAVANJAC and Zdravko NARANDŽIĆ guilty of the crime committed against Bosniak civilians in Bosanska Krupa in August 1992. Defendants PLAVANJAC and NARANDŽIĆ were sentenced to 15 and 7 years in prison, respectively.

According to the OWCP charges, Jojo PLAVANJAC - aided and abetted by Zdravko NARANDŽIĆ - took the lives of 11 persons of Bosniak nationality on 3 August 1992. At the time of the incident, the victims were held confined in the building of Petar Kočić Elementary School, at the time operating as a makeshift prison.
