EX-POLICE RESERVIST UNDER CHARGES FOR A 1992 WAR CRIME AGAINST CIVILIANS IN SANSKI MOST
In cooperation with the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Una-Sana Canton in Bihać, BH, the Office of the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor has brought charges against M. J. , former member of the reserve police force – part of the Ministry of the Interior, Serbian Republic BH.
Raised earlier today, the indictment against Jovanović is based on a reasonable suspicion of involvement in the criminal offence of war crime against civilian population in village Lušci Palanka, municipality Sanski Most, BH.
According to the Serbian Prosecutor’s charges, M. J. engaged in a series of criminal acts against civilians throughout the months of June and July 1992, including unlawful arrests and confinement, torture, inhuman treatment, infliction of great suffering and violation of bodily integrity, as well as the killing of one civilian.
