The necessity for improved cooperation between the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor (OWCP) and the Serbian Government's Commission on Missing Persons (CMP), as mutually recognized by the OWCP Chief Prosecutor and CMP President, resulted in the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor and the Commission on Missing Persons, jointly developed by the OWCP and CMP teams.
Signed on 12 June 2018, the Memorandum sets up the procedures which should ensure continuity in the exchange of data/information with a view to clarifying the destiny of persons missing in the context of the armed conflicts in the former SFRY territory, and prosecuting those responsible for breaches of international humanitarian law.
