A meeting between Snežana Stanojković, the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor, and Serge Brammertz, the ICTY Chief Prosecutor, was held at the OWCP seat earlier today. The meeting took place in the context of the ICTY Prosecutor's preparations for his regular six-monthly report to the UN Security Council, due to be presented in early December this year.
The two Prosecutors discussed modalities of cooperation between the Office of the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor and MICT Prosecutor, whose full-scale implementation is expected following the completion of the ICTY activities. Envisaged as the ICTY successor, the MICT is going to take over the ICTY functions upon the termination of the latter's mandate in late 2017.
