Background facts |
According to the court's findings, on 14 September 1991, defendant AA, at the time member of the Vukovar Territorial Defence force, accompanied by another soldier, entered the cellar of a family home in Vukovar, Croatia, where the two found a group of Croat civilians hiding inside. The defendant took two males out of the cellar and killed them. The defendant's unidentified accomplice then threw a hand grenade into the cellar and killed two female persons in the process, whereas another civilian sustained grave bodily injuries. |
Procedural remarks |
The defendant was previously sentenced to 20 years in prison in the Ovčara I case (see the case description). The court imposed an aggregate sentence of 20 years in prison. |
