Acting Chief Public Prosecutor for War Crimes Snežana Stanojković attended the Regional Conference of Prosecutors held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 18 and 19 September 2023. In addition to the representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office for War Crimes, the representatives of the State Attorney's Office of the Republic of Croatia, the Special State Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro, the Prosecutor's Office from the Federation of B-H, Republika Srpska and Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Chief Prosecutor's Office of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) took part in the conference.
The conference discussed the hitherto regional cooperation, the obstacles encountered by the prosecutors' offices, proposals for solving and overcoming issues that arise in practice, and the special importance of regional and wider international cooperation in the exchange of data in the procedures for searching for and identifying missing persons, being one of the most important issues. One of the topics was also the assistance of the Mechanism in providing evidence that was used in the Tribunal.
